T20 cricket has taken the world by storm today. Gone are the days when cricket enthusiasts loved the beauty and grace of test cricket. In today's fast-paced world, a 20-20 cricket tournament proved to be the right mix of entertainment and sports for the viewers.

It started with the IPL (Indian Premier League) tournament that was kicked off in India in 2008. The huge amounts of money and popularity gave the rise of two more famous cricket leagues in Asia – the PSL and BPL. Let’s know more about them in this article.

1. IPL (Indian Premier League)

2. PSL (Pakistan Super League)

The Pakistan Super League came off during 2015. The tournament has been happening between February and March for the last 3 years. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the PSL was heavily inspired by the success of the IPL. Most of the PSL matches take place in the UAE. Islamabad United won the latest PSL trophy. They earned a prize money of $1million. The next PSL season is just around the corner. The upcoming tournament (PSL 2019) is scheduled to begin on February 14th. This time, there are additional venues i.e. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in UAE whereas some matches will take place in Karachi and Lahore as well. 3. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League)

The Bangladesh Cricket Board inaugurated the BPL in 2011. The first tournament of BPL occurred during the year 2012. It is one of the 3 professional cricket leagues in Bangladesh. The league is quite popular across the world. This is because of the participation of many international stars in it. The Rangpur Riders won the title in 2018. They were awarded a cash prize of $700,000.
